Bazzy Day
I promise I will post more soon. Too many things going on to sit down and blog. I wanted to post the video of my sweet boy quick though. Yesterday was the day we held him for the first time in Guatemala City, knowing that we wouldn't have to say good-bye. He was coming HOME!!!

Superior Sof
Sofia got a superior at her piano festival today...which means she got
the "pretty" ribbon that she was hoping for. We told her we already
knew she was superior. ;)

If you want to read more about all the things that are being sent to Haiti, they have started a blog called Here To Haiti to show all the fun things that are coming in to be shipped to Cazale on the semi container. Good stuff!

Finally
I finally got to see my finished house! It's way brighter than what I
envisioned, but my goal was to make it look Haitian and it totally
does. Yay.

Haitian Coolness
The girls told me they had some dancers coming today to their school, from Haiti. Of course I hoped I would be able to go and was SO thankful that it was this morning and we could go! It was a group of former street boys from Port Au Prince. A man in Iowa started a group home for them and they are all taught dance as part of their schooling. These guys have all graduated from the dance program and they were incredible! There was a even a little 9 year old cutie who performed Beat It by Michael Jackson. He was spot on with the dance moves. Very cute. Just one more reason why I LOVE my girl's school so much. They go above and beyond to teach their students so many amazing things. Love it!

The Reason
Bazzy sings this song at the top of his lungs with SO much feeling when we're in the car. Ok- maybe we both do (I'm not quite as loud though). I thought I would share this song so you could hear it too. This is way more of an accoustic version than the one they play on klove, but listen the words and you will understand why I love it so much. Great song!
Sidewalk Prophets
Bazzy loves these guys and was all smiles, but very quiet when meeting them. I think it was a little overwhelming to see the people he listens to so often ACTUALLY in real life. Such a fun night!
Charlotte....
....hangin' with the band. She continued to high five everyone until
the other kids were done getting autographs. So cute.

Waiting In line
So many people here! Got to play games with Sidewalk prophets. The
lead singer is holding Charlotte. :)

A Liitle Irish Jig
We're still convinced at times that this show is just one big joke and even celebrities are in on it now...but my kids love it and you gotta like something that makes them smile and dance. Enjoy.

LOVE it!!!
LOVE the almost finished shelves! Go Kris! He just needs to add the
trim strips and then I'll paint them the same color as the white
baseboards. Love it!

Shelves
Our house smells like sawdust (I love that smell) cuz my hubby is busy
at work putting the shelves up in my art room. SO thankful he's so
handy like that! I'll definitely post again when they are finished.

Birthdays, Art, and Boxing
There was a fun art class being offered for "date night" at the Art Mill, and it just HAPPENED to be on my birthday, so we decided to go with a few of our friends. It ended up being a really fun night and a great way to celebrate being 34.
They even let us bring our own drinks and snacks and even though the boys grumbled a bit about not being terribly artistic, they ended up having more fun than they thought they would.
We worked a bit on finishing the last few houses that need to be painted for Haiti too. If I would have known how long it takes to paint these cute little houses, I would have never been quite so detailed in my design. ;) It's taking forever!
Now I know that these don't look all that great in their raw- grayish -blah form...but hopefully you can use your imagination and envision what they will someday become. The project for this date night was to make an abstract clay wreath. This is my friend Deb's and I love the patterned flowers and leaves and out-of-the-box shape she decided to make it in.
My friend Joey created these fun swirly flowers with cool shapes and designs. I know it will look amazing and I'm excited to see what she does with it when we go back to glaze them.
I decided to do a kind of swirly circle shape for our wreath, and then Kris and I made different patterns and shapes on circles and I formed them into abstract flower shapes.
I should mention that we all tried really hard to incorporate our husbands ideas into our creations and they did great following instructions and even surprised us with a few fun ideas to add on to our wreaths. This was supposed to be a group project...
I may have gotten a little distracted at some point too, and since I had a little clay left over I decided to make an armadillo, which I'm certain will be taken over by Mia once it comes home.
Kris made this little creation which he calls "indifferent man". He's not happy. He's not sad. He's just indifferent. If you asked him how he was doing, he would say "meh" ~cuz he's indifferent.
I took a few quick pictures of a couple of the houses that are finished, cuz well, 3 of them have sold already. Not bad, right? If anyone on here sees one you want, they are $55.00 if they're sold locally and ALL the money goes to the Rescue Center in Haiti.
I think the one on the left might be sold already too, but the yellow one on the right is super cute and ready to come home with you!
We'll be listing them all on Etsy and our website once the last few are finally finished, but I thought I would give you all an option to see a couple of them first. Don't you feel special?
I totally fell in love with these adorable little chickies and I'm hoping to get back to the Art Mill before Easter to make some with my girls. Aren't they cute???

Everyone decided to come with us after the art class...but I'm not sure they totally knew what they were getting into. Kris and I were headed to a sports bar cuz they were showing the Pacquiao/Clottey fight. I got to surprise some new people with my love of boxing and I think they maybe even enjoyed themselves a little bit. Manny won (yay!) and it was the perfect end to a very fun day. :)

Diapers For Haiti
I have a wonderful Mom's Group that I go to at our church, and the women are SO giving of their time and resources to make a difference in our city and in our world.
They decided to tackle making some diapers for Haiti ~ with the help of some nice ladies who know how to sew. We were a bit lost, since we had NO idea what we were doing, but everyone worked so hard and because of our experienced helpers we now have some ADORABLE diapers to send to Haiti. :)
Bazzy and I decided the best way to photograph them was to try them on our baby dolls. Aren't they cute??? I can't wait to see them on cute little Haitian babies!

On The Wings Of Love

Maybe it's because I've been stuck in the house with sick kids for several days. Maybe it's because I enjoy mindless entertainment every once in awhile. Maybe I should be slightly embarrassed....but I'm really excited to see the Finale of The Bachelor tonight.
Who will it be? Tenley? Vienna? Or neither???
Oh the drama!!!
